Sri Lanka opens its largest meat processing factory

Sri Lanka, a primarily Buddhist nation, once wants to ban Cattle slaughter, has now opened one of the largest meat processing factories in South Asia. 

The huge investment goes to  Katunayake Investment Promotion Zone ( IPZ ) and the investor is hidden according to local media reports. It revealed that the investment came from a local investor; not from a foreign investor. 

The investment is around 1.5 billion Sri Lankan rupees and is expected to reach the 10 %  share of the international market requirement.

The land extends is around three -acres, which enables it to facilitate more than 300 employees. The production includes sausages, meatballs, ham, bacon, and so on. It targets exporting to the Maldives, Middle East Countries, and India.
